Ready Electric's legacy began in 1949, with Ollie H. Windhorst, Sr.
Ollie served 4 influential years in the US Navy during World War II. He was an entrepreneur at heart and destined to start a business. With hard work, determination and many mentors, friendships and familial support - he began a company that has thrived in the industry for the past 72 years.
Tragically, in 1980, Ollie and his wife were killed in an automobile accident. At the time, Ready was being led by Stanley Windhorst. Stanley continued to foster growth from 1978 to 1999 during his time as president. In 1999 Andrew Windhorst was appointed President. Each member of the Windhorst family led Ready Electric with passion and integrity, treating employees as family.
Legacy is described as something that is passed through generations. In 2007, Ready Electric became an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan). Stanley and Andy Windhorst graciously gave the company to their employees. Afterall, Ready had always been a "family" of employees.
Ready Electric's name is a misnomer, as we are not only an "electrical" contractor. Throughout the years we have become a provider of conveyor services, tele-data, access control, lightning protection, in-house geospatial laser scanning, and our extensive pre-fabrication division. Pre-fabrication is just another way that Ready Electric has stayed one step ahead of all others in our industry.
We believe that Ollie H. Windhorst, Sr. would be proud that his company is still being led with honesty, integrity and professionalism. Traits that are as important to us today, as they were to Ollie in 1949.
We strive to:
We will be the preferred electrical construction firm, providing specialty services both regionally and through strategic partnerships on a national scale.
